Error on ‘The Curse: On Women’ Sermon
Jan 13th, 2009 by crossroad
I made an error in the explanation of the Hebrew word used in Genesis for ‘man.’ In the sermon, I said that the Hebrew word “adawm” was Hebrew for man (singular), man (plural, as in ‘humanity’) and the proper name for Adam (which is what it is). This was wrong. The Hebrew word ‘iysh’ is the word used for man (singular), man (plural, as in humanity) and husband. Context determines which one of these meanings the word holds.
Please forgive my error.
